Client story · Acquisition integration

Integrating an acquired business Microsoft 365, devices and access brought into group management

We helped integrate Turner Engineering's IT into the Beijer Ref environment after acquisition, with a sequenced transition into group support.

The brief

Keeping the business operating through acquisition integration

Turner Engineering came into the group with different identity structures, Microsoft 365 settings, device standards and access arrangements. Beijer Ref needed to bring the environment under group management while employees continued using email, collaboration tools and business systems.

We mapped the environment before setting the sequence, because some systems could join the group straight away while others needed stabilising first.

The integration sequence

Immediate integration and staged transition

Handover was part of the integration

We treated the integration as complete when users could keep working and support knew how to manage the environment.

What we delivered

The technical work behind the integration

01

Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 tenant integration

Our identity work covered Microsoft Entra ID, tenant integration and user access. We aligned these with Beijer Ref's identity and security arrangements so employees could use the systems they needed as their environment changed.

02

Devices brought into consistent Intune management

We aligned device standards and Intune endpoint management with the group's support processes, bringing endpoints into one model the support team could manage.

03

Network access and security controls aligned

We aligned network connectivity, secure access and security controls with the target Beijer Ref environment. Data handling formed part of that work, alongside the connections and access methods users needed to reach their systems.

04

Operational handover into group support

We transitioned support processes and handed over the integrated environment for ongoing management. Support could then manage the changed user access, endpoints and connectivity as part of the group.

The outcome

Turner Engineering operating within the group environment

Employees kept working while identity, devices, access and support moved into Beijer Ref's arrangements.

Employees kept working through the transition

Email, collaboration and access to business systems were maintained while the integration progressed.

An environment the group could manage and support

Beijer Ref gained a more unified environment across identity, Microsoft 365, endpoints, network access and security, with support processes aligned to group operation.
