Managed IT, cybersecurity and infrastructure services engineered to operate together

Clients usually come to us when IT has become too important to run reactively. The environment may feel fragile, cyber expectations may be rising, or infrastructure decisions may be overdue.

Managed IT

Day-to-day IT operations for regional, multi-site and cloud-dependent organisations: user support, networks, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoints, monitoring, patching, backup visibility, vendors and technical controls. Built for businesses whose support, security and operating expectations have outgrown reactive IT.

Why Inlight IT

Engineering-led, cyber-first IT built for operational confidence

Inlight IT competes on engineering quality, depth of network expertise, cybersecurity discipline, operational accountability and long-term resilience. Price, toolsets, response time and scale are the baseline.

Who we work with

We work with businesses that have outgrown basic IT support and need sound technical decisions that keep the environment supportable as it evolves.

01
We fix causes, not tickets
We address the design, configuration and ownership issues behind incidents, not just the incidents themselves.
02
Security built into daily operations
Identity, endpoints, Microsoft 365, backup, remote access, firewall policy, patching and recovery need to be operated together.
03
Built for what comes next
Security expectations, AI capability, compliance pressure and infrastructure options keep moving.
How Inlight Works
We operate what we build.

Design, implementation and support stay connected, so environments remain supportable after go-live and operational knowledge carries through into how the environment is managed day to day.

01
Assess and Design
How the environment is built, and what the business actually depends on. Architecture and security recommendations grounded in operational reality.
02
Build and Secure
Infrastructure, identity, cloud, network and endpoint engineered together, with security designed into the architecture rather than added afterwards.
03
Operate and Support
Monitoring, incident response, patching, security oversight and user support, run with clear ownership.
04
Improve and Evolve
Performance, security posture, architecture and operational risk reviewed continuously as the environment changes.

Improvement feeds back into assessment — the model runs as a continuous cycle, not a one-off project.

AI and Automation

Across client work, AI is scaling faster than anything before it

It is arriving through licences organisations already pay for, and it is moving quickly. We are building with it now, in live client environments rather than in pilots that never ship — Copilot rollouts, Power Platform automation, and custom applications built on open source and owned outright by the client.

We stay close to what is genuinely usable rather than what is being announced, and we move it into supported operation so it keeps working. Sound controls and clear ownership are part of doing that properly.

Common Questions

Questions that come up most often

If you are reviewing managed service providers, strengthening cybersecurity, planning a network or infrastructure change, or questioning whether your current IT model is still right, these are the questions we are usually asked first.

Q.What size organisations do you work with?

We work with Australian businesses and organisations where technology has become operationally important. Fit is not defined by headcount alone.

Many clients engage with us because their environment has become more complex: more users, more sites, stronger cyber expectations, more reliance on Microsoft 365, ageing infrastructure, cloud decisions, backup concerns, or a need for better ownership across the technology stack.

We are best suited to organisations that value practical technical depth, clearer accountability, stronger resilience and better operational control.

Q.Why do organisations switch from their current MSP?

The common triggers are not always dramatic. Often it is a pattern: slow escalation, reactive support, repeated issues, poor documentation, unclear ownership, weak Microsoft 365 governance, unresolved security gaps, or infrastructure decisions being deferred for too long.

Sometimes the trigger is sharper: a failed recovery, cyber insurance pressure, a security incident, an outage, a cloud or network project that has stalled, or a sense that the current provider is not operating at the level the business now requires.

Inlight IT is usually a fit when the organisation wants stronger engineering depth behind managed IT, not just a different helpdesk.

Q.What does your network and SD-WAN capability actually cover?

Network and SD-WAN are core Inlight IT capabilities.

We design, deploy and manage networks for distributed organisations that depend on branch connectivity, cloud applications, remote access, firewall policy and reliable performance across multiple locations.

That includes SD-WAN design, FortiGate firewall management, secure access planning, SASE-aligned architecture, ZTNA, carrier coordination, network monitoring, policy management and ongoing optimisation.

The goal is not just connectivity. It is a network environment that is secure, visible, supportable and aligned to the way the organisation actually operates.

Q.How do you approach cybersecurity, is it separate from managed IT?

Cybersecurity is built into how we operate managed environments.

Identity, Microsoft 365 security, endpoint controls, patching, backup, firewall policy, remote access, monitoring and escalation all form part of the operating model. For many organisations, that baseline is the difference between reactive IT support and cyber-first managed services.

Where clients need more depth, we support specific cybersecurity work such as MDR, Essential Eight assessment and uplift, penetration testing remediation, Microsoft 365 security hardening, incident recovery readiness and cyber insurance evidence.

So the answer is: cybersecurity is not separate from managed IT, but deeper cybersecurity services can be added where the risk profile requires them.

Q.Do you handle cloud migrations and ongoing cloud management?

Yes. We support cloud, hybrid infrastructure and Microsoft 365 environments, including migration planning, identity, access, backup, security, workload placement and ongoing managed operations.

Our approach is not cloud-first by default. Some workloads belong in Azure or SaaS. Some are better suited to Azure Local, data centre environments or modernised on-premises infrastructure.

We help clients decide what should move, what should stay, what should be modernised and how the environment should be managed after the change.

Q.How is Inlight IT different from a helpdesk-led MSP?

A helpdesk-led MSP usually focuses on tickets, response times and user support. Those things matter, but they are only part of the operating environment.

Inlight IT brings senior engineering, cybersecurity, networking, cloud, infrastructure and automation capability into the managed service model. That means we look beyond the immediate ticket and consider the systems, controls, vendors, risks and recurring issues behind it.

The difference is practical ownership. We support users, but we also help improve the environment they rely on.

Q.What does a stronger managed service model actually include?

A stronger managed service model gives the business clearer visibility across support, systems, security, backup, vendors and improvement priorities.

That includes day-to-day user support, escalation, monitoring, patching, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration, endpoint protection, backup visibility, security controls, vendor coordination and practical reporting.

The value is not only that issues are answered. It is that recurring problems, ageing platforms, cyber gaps and operational risks are made visible before they become larger business problems.

Q.Do you replace our existing IT team or work alongside it?

Both models are common. Some clients use Inlight IT as their full managed services provider. Others retain internal IT or technology leadership and engage Inlight IT for engineering depth, cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, Azure or specific project delivery.

The engagement is shaped around the operating model that already exists, not forced into a single delivery template.
