Pricing guide

How much does managed IT cost in Australia?

Managed IT pricing depends on the support, security and software your business needs. Published Australian pricing guides put managed IT services at around $100 to $250 per user per month ex GST, usually before Microsoft 365 licences. When comparing quotes, check which licences, backup and security services are included. Our calculator brings these costs together for the users, sites and services you select.

What the monthly price is made of

  • The managed service: support, monitoring, patching, administration and planning across the environment we run.
  • Microsoft 365 licensing and backup, if you buy them through us. Licences you already hold are left out of the estimate, so they are not counted twice.
  • Security services such as endpoint protection, threat monitoring, identity response and email security.
  • Network and site services, such as managed firewalls and SD-WAN for each office or branch.

One-off costs

  • Onboarding brings the environment under management: documentation, access, monitoring, security tools and the transition from any current provider.
  • Site deployments and assessments, such as an Essential Eight gap assessment, are priced once and shown separately.

Where you can bring the cost down

  • Choose the service level that suits your hours of operation.
  • Commit to a 24 or 36 month term, which attracts a discount.

Cost drivers

What affects Managed IT pricing?

These are the things that move the cost of managed IT up or down.

Users and devices

Most services are priced per user or per managed device, so the size of the environment is the biggest driver.

Number of sites

Each office or branch can add firewall and SD-WAN management, and one-off site deployment where required.

Managed IT service level

Essentials covers business-hours support. Professional adds 24/7 monitoring, cross-platform management, asset management and a quarterly technology review.

Microsoft licensing

Microsoft 365 licensing can be included in the estimate or left out if it is already in place.

Cybersecurity and monitoring

Endpoint protection, managed detection and response, identity response, email security and SIEM each add a per-user or per-device cost.

AI agents and automation

Agents, workflows and integrations are scoped with you, because their cost depends on the systems and work involved.

Onboarding and projects

Onboarding, site deployment and assessments are one-off costs, shown separately from the monthly price.

Agreement term

Multi-year agreements attract a discount. Ask us about 24 and 36 month terms.

FAQ

Common questions about Managed IT pricing

How much does Managed IT cost per user in Australia?

Published Australian pricing guides put managed IT services at around $100 to $250 per user per month ex GST, usually before Microsoft 365 licences.

Where your business sits depends on the service level, the security services included, and the number of users and sites. The calculator shows the full monthly cost for your environment, with Microsoft 365 licensing as a separate line.

Why do larger organisations pay less per user?

The work of running an environment is shared across more people and devices as it grows, so the Managed IT service rate per user reduces with scale. Licensing and security services are priced per user or device, so they continue to grow with the organisation and contribute to the total.

What is included in Managed IT pricing?

Managed IT Essentials covers business-hours helpdesk, remote monitoring and management, patch management and core reporting. Managed IT Professional adds 24/7 monitoring, cross-platform management, asset management and a quarterly technology review.

Copilot implementation and support are part of the managed service. Microsoft licensing, security services, network management and storage appear as separate lines, so you can see what each adds.

Is Microsoft 365 included?

Microsoft 365 licensing is priced separately from the managed service. Choose Business Standard or Business Premium in the calculator, or select the already licensed option to leave it out. Business plans cover up to 300 users. Above that, we quote Microsoft licensing separately.

Is cybersecurity included?

Security services are shown as separate components so the estimate reflects what you choose. The calculator preselects the services we suggest, including endpoint protection, managed detection and response, identity threat response, secure access and data protection, and email security. You can remove any of them.

How are AI agents and automation priced?

AI agents, workflow automation and integrations are scoped with you as separate work, because the cost depends on the systems, data and processes involved. They are not part of the calculator estimate.
