Client story · SD-WAN

A national SD-WAN rollout Branches kept operating as each site moved across

Beijer Ref supplies refrigeration, HVAC and climate technology through a national branch network. We designed, supplied and deployed its SD-WAN, and brought each site across in sequence while the branches kept trading.

Requirement
Change the branch network while every branch kept trading
Solution
One SD-WAN design, equipment staged centrally, sites cut over in sequence
Outcome
Branches on one consistent, centrally supported network
The brief

A national network that had to keep working while it changed

Each branch relies on its connection to serve customers, coordinate suppliers and keep stock moving. Changing the network across a national footprint meant planning the work so branches could keep operating throughout.

We ran the rollout as one programme, from design and supply through staging, cutover and ongoing visibility, and sourced the equipment as part of the same engagement.

How the rollout ran

Prepared centrally, cut over in sequence

Afterwards

Sites came under central visibility as they went live.

What the rollout covered

Design, supply and cutover in one programme

01

One design for every branch

A common network and security design was set for the branches, so each site could be built, supported and changed the same way.

02

Equipment sourced and staged centrally

Equipment was sourced through Inlight IT, then configured and tested centrally before dispatch, so installation at each branch was a known, repeatable step.

03

Cutovers planned around trading

Each branch was prepared and scheduled for its cutover so it could keep serving customers while the change happened.

04

Visibility from the first site

As each site went live it came under central visibility, so the network could be monitored and supported as one estate.

The outcome

A managed network across the branch estate

Beijer Ref's branches now run on one consistent SD-WAN environment, visible and supported centrally.

Branches kept operating

Each site was prepared before its cutover, so branches kept trading through the move.

A consistent standard across the estate

Network and security run to the same design at each branch.

Supported as one estate

Sites came under central visibility as they went live, so the network is monitored and supported as a whole.
