What this means in practice

Extending cover keeps hardware replacement and Fortinet support available until 17 May 2028. If the current contract lapses first, the unit runs without Fortinet support from that point.

On 2 GB models like this one, newer FortiOS releases remove or restrict some proxy-based features, and the list varies by branch, so check the current release notes before upgrading.
