What this means in practice
Hardware support has ended. Fortinet is under no obligation to provide support services for the product, and cover cannot be reinstated.
This is a 2 GB model. Fortinet has removed or restricted a number of proxy-related features on 2 GB FortiGates in newer FortiOS releases. The affected features vary by FortiOS branch, so check the current release notes before upgrading.

using SSL VPN?
On current FortiOS releases, SSL VPN tunnel mode has been replaced by IPsec VPN, and entry-level models including the 50G, 70G and 90G also have restrictions on agentless web-mode VPN. Fortinet recommends IPsec dial-up VPN for remote access.
We check the existing VPN configuration before the replacement is specified.
