Network management
Firewalls, SD-WAN, switching and wireless are managed by engineers who work on branch networks every day. The internal team keeps visibility of the network without carrying its day-to-day management.
Beijer Ref supplies refrigeration, HVAC and climate technology through a national branch network. Its internal IT team runs the business's systems, and we add the network management and engineering depth behind it.
For a national branch business, the network is the business
Every branch depends on its connection to serve customers, check stock and coordinate with suppliers. When the network has a problem, the whole business feels it, and the cause can sit with a firewall, a carrier, a switch or an application.
Beijer Ref has an experienced internal IT team that holds the business context and owns its priorities. It wanted network specialists alongside it: engineers who work with firewalls, SD-WAN, switching and wireless every day and can take a network problem through to resolution.
The work is set out as a co-managed IT arrangement, with clear responsibilities, agreed escalation and project capacity for planned change.
The internal team stays in charge of priorities. Network issues and changes come to us with the context attached, and go back resolved and documented.
The internal team or a branch raises the issue, with the business context attached.
Network and connectivity problems come straight to our network engineers.
We trace the fault across firewalls, switching, wireless and carrier services.
The fix is applied and coordinated with carriers and vendors where they are involved.
The internal team gets the outcome, the cause and updated records.
Between incidentsNetwork management continues between incidents. Changes, upgrades and lifecycle are planned with the internal team, so the network keeps pace with the business.

When a branch connection drops, the cause can sit with the carrier, the equipment or the configuration. We take the fault up with carriers and vendors and stay with it until the branch is back online.
Planned change, such as the national SD-WAN rollout, is delivered by the same engineers who support the network, so what we learn in support shapes the design.
Beyond the network, the internal team can draw on our infrastructure and security engineers for escalations and projects, within the responsibilities agreed between the two teams.
An internal team with network specialists behind it
Beijer Ref's internal IT team keeps ownership of priorities and business knowledge, with our network engineers managing the branch network and adding depth where the team needs it.

The team's time goes to business priorities while the network is managed alongside it.
Network projects are delivered by the engineers who manage the network day to day.
We work alongside internal IT teams with network management, infrastructure, security and project capability, scoped around what the team already covers. Talk to us about co-managed IT.
